About Dr Mark Papworth
Dr Mark Papworth is a clinical psychologist working in the Northeast of England (Newcastle and Hexham).
He qualified in 1991 and has been working in the NHS for the majority of time since that point in time. Since 1999 he has worked as a consultant clinical psychologist which, as well as treating patients, involved leading and supervising teams of mental health professionals. Throughout his career he has worked primarily treating adults in community and primary care (GP Practice) settings. He has also worked with children and families. His therapeutic approach is eclectic, drawing upon cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), interpersonal therapy, cognitive analytic therapy and also other psychotherapeutic approaches.
His degrees are a BSc in psychology, and he also has both a Doctorate and MSc in clinical psychology. He has an MA in Leadership (Leading Innovation and Change) and a BA in fine art.
