About Sanctuary Psychology Services
Are you struggling in your life? Feeling overwhelmed? Worrying about the future? Finding it difficult to let go of the past? These challenges may be impacting upon your motivation, leaving you feeling tearful, experiencing disturbed sleep, poor appetite or comfort eating to cope, your relationships and friendships may also have become strained. Right now you are feeling stuck and are seeking help to move forward.
Since 2001, I have been supporting people in exploring ways to move back towards the things that matter in their life. I can help you identify ways to get unstuck with the challenges you are facing and explore ways to live the life that you desire.
My areas of specialist interest are addiction, trauma, self-management of long-term health conditions, depression and anxiety. I also specialise in working with LGBTQ+ individuals.
My practice is informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
I offer telephone and online therapy and have a limited number of face-to-face therapy sessions available at my private clinic in East Belfast.
I also provide clinical supervision to trainee and qualified mental health professionals (an approved supervisor with the British Psychological Society) and a regular commentator to local, national and international media around psychology and mental health.
As I reside in Northern Ireland I hold an Enhanced Disclosure with Access NI, which is equivalent to a DBS check that is required in Mainland UK for clinical practice.
